Reading: In Reading, we finished our nonfiction unit with our shared reading of Exploring The International Space Station. Students were very engaged throughout this reading and did what readers do by asking quesions, making inferences and using text features to guide our reading comprehension. Math: In Math, we started learning about perimeter and area. Students were introduced to both concepts using centimeter cubes. Writing: In writing, we finished publishing our biographies. Students added text features such as pictures and captions. We celebrated our work with our publishing party at the end of the week! Science/ Social Studies : S This week we have continued our work with our Pheonixville town map. We started studying the different communities: urban, suburban and rural. Students were given a community they would live in and they created their home with the characteristics of a home in their designated area. We will spend a few more days creating businesses and buildings that go with each community and adding them to our class map.
