Meet Ms. Garcia

Hello! I am Ms. Garcia, the second grade teacher at CDS!  I was raised in the U.S. state of Iowa. However, my family heritage is Mexican, so I am also fluent in Spanish. I received my degree from the University of Iowa and have experience teaching in a dual language program. My favorite pastimes include reading, exercising, shopping, and traveling!.

I came to CDS to gain a unique experience as well as a more global perspective and understanding on education. I take pride in what I do and strive to achieve a community in my classroom where students respect, challenge, and accept themselves and one another. With that said, I am looking forward to getting to know my second graders, their culture and their families. Let the learning begin!
