Reading: In Reading, we have continued studying biographies. This week we started a book on Helen Keller. Students learned how authors use text features to help us understand books better. We also practiced filling in a timeline to keep track of important events that occur in a person's life. Math: In Math, we parcticed doubling and halving numbers. Students worked on this strategy during rotations and idependent work. We also started working on collecting data and analyzing it to find the median and the mode of set of data. Writing: In writing, students have began writing biographies of thier own on a famous person they have been researching. Students have practiced choosing adjectives that describe a person as well as reasons that provide evidence. Science/ Social Studies : This week students started creating their landscapes for our volcano models. Students included 1 water form, 1 landform, and a road to represent human activity. Our landscapes came out colorful and many students added a lot of detail. We are excitingly awaiting the creation of our volcanoes for next week.
